Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Infrastructure & Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic, seasoned, and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations, drive capital structuring, and support our aggressive growth trajectory in the infrastructure and construction sector.
As the CFO, you will serve as a key strategic partner to the MD and Board of Directors. You will oversee all capital raising initiatives—spanning bank loans, equity, foreign funding, and preparing the company for a public issue (IPO)—while ensuring rock-solid governance across corporate tax (IT), indirect tax (GST), financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Fundraising & Capital Structuring
• Debt Syndication & Bank Loans:
Lead relationships with consortium banks and financial institutions to secure project finance, working capital limits, term loans, and non-fund-based limits (Bank Guarantees / Letters of Credit) critical for construction execution.
• Foreign Funding:
Evaluate, structure, and secure international capital, including External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs), foreign direct investments (FDI), and funding from multilateral agencies.
• Equity & Public Issue (IPO) Readiness:
Drive the equity capital strategy. Lead the organization through private equity placement, joint ventures, and structure the financial roadmap, compliance, and drafting required for a Public Issue / IPO.
2. Financial Control, Accounting & Balance Sheet Strategy
• Balance Sheet Management:
Optimize cash flow, manage debt-equity ratios, ensure efficient working capital cycles, and maintain absolute financial health across asset-heavy project operations.
• Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of timely, accurate consolidated financial statements in compliance with relevant local and international accounting standards (IndAS/IFRS).
• Project Costing & Budgeting:
Implement robust internal controls, project-wise cost accounting, variance analysis, and risk assessment frameworks for multi-year infrastructure contracts.
3. Taxation, Compliance & Governance
• Direct & Indirect Taxation:
Ensure flawless compliance, strategic planning, and audit readiness for Income Tax (IT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and construction-specific tax structures (WCT, etc.).
• Regulatory Governance:
Navigate complex statutory audits, corporate law, and stock exchange regulations (if listing) to maintain zero-non-compliance status.
Required Candidate Profile
Education & Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or MBA in Finance from a premier institute is highly preferred.
Additional qualifications like CFA or CS are an added advantage.
Experience & Industry Domain
• 15–20+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5+ years in a CFO or Head of Finance role specifically within Infrastructure, Real Estate, EPC, or Large-Scale Construction industries.
• Proven Track Record: Must demonstrate successful hands-on experience in closing large debt syndications, managing private equity/foreign funding rounds, or steering a company through a successful Public Issue (IPO).
Technical & Behavioral Skills
• Deep knowledge of GST, Direct Tax laws, and corporate governance norms applicable to construction contracts and long-term infrastructure projects.
• Strong command over financial modeling, valuation, and capital optimization.
• Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills with banks, credit rating agencies, institutional investors, and regulatory authorities.
What We Offer
• Highly competitive executive compensation package.
• A leadership seat to steer monumental infrastructure projects impacting regional development.
