We are hiring a "Purchase Engineer."
Experience: 3–5 Years
CTC: ₹4–6 LPA
Gender: Males
Location: Sriperumbudur, Chennai
Key Responsibilities
Handle procurement activities for raw materials, engineering components,
consumables, and industrial services.
Source vendors and obtain quotations based on technical and commercial requirements.
Prepare and process purchase orders while ensuring timely procurement of materials.
Coordinate with vendors for order confirmation, dispatch schedules, and on-time delivery.
Support vendor evaluation, development, and performance monitoring.
Work closely with production, stores, quality, and planning teams for material requirements and procurement schedules.
Monitor inventory levels and support effective material planning activities.
Maintain procurement records including PRs, POs, invoices, vendor databases, and related documentation.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and operational procedures.
Support cost optimisation initiatives through effective negotiation and sourcing strategies.
Coordinate logistics and follow up on material movement whenever required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management within manufacturing or engineering industries.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor coordination, and material planning.
Knowledge of engineering materials, fabrication, machining, or industrial components.
Good negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and MS Excel.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience in Oil & Gas equipment manufacturing or heavy engineering industries.
Exposure to vendor development and industrial sourcing activities.
Understanding of supply chain and inventory management processes.
